1st DAY: CUSCO – QESHWACHACA (mountain-biking)
We’ll pick you up at your hotel, to board a private transportation which will take us to the Pomacanchi Lagoon (3,600 m. / 2 h.). There, we’ll start cycling on the accidented 20 km. road that joins this lagoon with the Acopia Lagoon, which will be our lunch spot. In the afternoon, we’ll transfer you to Yanahoca (1 h.), where we’ll visit its tiny volcano and then, follow on to the mountain pass of the same name. From this point, we’ll take our bikes again to descend 35 km. and reach the fabulous Queshwachaca Bridge; an impressive vegetable fiber bridge hanging over the Apurimac River. This bridge is the scene of a famous renewing ceremony celebrated every beginning of the month of June. Its precise date varies, depending on the year. We’ll camp next to the bridge.
2nd DAY: QESHWACHACA – CHUQUICAHUANA – CUSCO
(White water river rafting, class III and IV)
Early wake up and after breakfast, transfer to the Chuquicahuana Bridge (2 h. 30). There, our raft will be ready. Upon arrival, we’ll be briefed and will put on our river rafting gear, to do the white water rafting part of the trip (class III and IV). This part of the river, offers a segment with 5 km. of rapids, which ends at Cusipata, where we’ll arrive around 2:00 p.m. After having had lunch, we’ll board our private transportation to go back to Cusco.
